Discontinued in September 2026. Apple no longer sells this model.
Should you buy it now?
No. Apple no longer sells the AirPods (4th generation).
The AirPods (4th generation) came out in September 2024 at $129. Apple stopped selling it in September 2026, so it gets fewer years of software updates than a current model. If you're buying new, the AirPods 5 is the model to look at instead, from $129. Buying used can still make sense, but only at a steep discount and with the battery health checked.
