MacBook Pro 16-inch (M2 Max) vs MacBook Pro: should you upgrade?
If you're buying new, get the MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro 16-inch (M2 Max) is no longer sold by Apple.
A redesigned MacBook Pro with a touchscreen is rumored for late 2026.
The MacBook Pro is 3 years newer, so it will get software updates for longer and holds its value better. If your MacBook Pro 16-inch (M2 Max) still works well, there's no rush, but don't buy one new.
