HomePod mini vs HomePod mini 2: should you upgrade?

If you're buying new, get the HomePod mini 2. The HomePod mini is no longer sold by Apple.

Just announced and on sale October 30. The original HomePod mini is discontinued.

The HomePod mini 2 is 6 years newer, so it will get software updates for longer and holds its value better. If your HomePod mini still works well, there's no rush, but don't buy one new.
